How to reverse diabetic retinopathy?

My uncle has had diabetes for a long time and now his vision is getting affected badly. The doctor said it's diabetic retinopathy. We are all very concerned, is there any hope to reverse this condition?

While eating leafy greens and antioxidant-rich vegetarian food is good for general health, it cannot magically cure retina damage once it starts. You must work with an eye specialist alongside maintaining strict control over your blood sugar levels. Please prioritize medical treatment first.

Please do not trust any WhatsApp forwards or online videos claiming to cure eye damage with carrot juice or eye drops. Retinopathy is a very serious medical issue that can lead to permanent vision loss if ignored. Get an appointment with a qualified ophthalmologist immediately.

I was just reading up on this because my uncle was recently diagnosed. It seems that keeping blood sugar and blood pressure stable is the absolute key to stopping retinopathy from getting worse. It is really fascinating but scary, so definitely consult an expert.

With my thyroid issues, I have learned that one metabolic problem always affects other parts of the body, including the eyes. You have to keep getting regular blood tests and follow up closely with your doctor. Don't skip your scheduled checkups, as early detection makes a massive difference.

Man, hearing about eye issues makes me realize I really need to cut back on my late-night paratha runs and sweets. But seriously, our eyes are precious, so we shouldn't mess around with them. Better to see a good eye doc right away and keep the heavy cravings aside for a bit.

As someone working in healthcare, I can tell you that early-stage retinopathy can sometimes be managed or stabilized, but advanced stages need specialized clinical treatments like laser therapy. Don't delay your eye exams. Please get a comprehensive dilated eye checkup done once a year.
