How to reverse diabetic peripheral neuropathy?

My husband has type 2 diabetes and lately he complains about numbness and pain in his hands and feet. The doctor called it peripheral neuropathy. Is there anything we can do to reverse it or at least stop it from getting worse?

Nerve medicines and continuous specialist visits can become very expensive over time. It is much more practical to invest in a decent home glucose monitor and test your sugar regularly to avoid hospitalizations. Keep your blood sugar in control and you'll save on heavy medical bills.

Let's be clear: once nerves are severely damaged, complete reversal is very tough, but you can definitely stop the progression. Focus on keeping your HbA1c consistently under control and work closely with a neurologist. Don't rely on random self-medication.

That tingling feeling is quite tough to deal with. Please consult a neurologist immediately to manage this safely.

If your doctor allows, light walking in comfortable, well-padded shoes can help improve blood circulation in your legs. Proper blood flow is very helpful for nerve health. Just be sure to check your feet daily for any injuries.

We monitor our son's sugar levels round the clock to protect him from neuropathy symptoms. Always make sure to keep the feet clean, dry, and moisturized, and buy seamless cotton socks. Please consult your pediatrician or specialist for the right approach.
