I have an important interview tomorrow, and my dandruff is really bad right now. I need a quick fix to make it disappear, at least for a day. How can I remove dandruff immediately?

When my thyroid levels fluctuated, my scalp got incredibly flaky overnight. While you can use a quick medicated shampoo to clear flakes for an emergency, please get a thyroid and routine blood checkup if this keeps happening. Long-term scalp health relies heavily on your internal hormone levels.

There is no magic that removes dandruff completely in one second, beta. But for quick relief from severe itching and dry flakes, you can gently massage your scalp with slightly warm mustard oil mixed with lemon juice, and wash it off after 15 minutes. It cleans the scalp surface temporarily.

To clear dandruff immediately for an event, my doctor recommended using a coal tar and salicylic acid shampoo. The salicylic acid acts as a chemical exfoliant to instantly dissolve and wash away the stuck flakes, while the coal tar slows down skin cell buildup. It works in just one wash.

For a quick fix, wet a fine-toothed comb and gently run it through your scalp to lift the loose flakes before washing your hair. Use a standard anti-dandruff shampoo, leave it on for 5 minutes, and rinse thoroughly. This mechanical clearing plus wash combo gives the cleanest immediate result.

If you need immediate results because of an important meeting or event, a single wash with an over-the-counter 2% Ketoconazole shampoo is your best bet. It targets the fungal growth directly and clears the loose flakes. However, for a lasting solution, always consult a dermatologist for a proper routine.
