How to relieve ureteral stent pain?

My doctor placed a ureteral stent last week due to a kidney stone, and honestly, the pain is quite bothersome. It feels like a constant ache in my side and sometimes when I pee. How can I manage this stent pain better?

Stent pain is honestly the worst and very irritating. Stay strong, it will get better once they remove it.

Hey, I know it feels super uncomfortable and painful every time you move or pee. Don't stress too much, just drink lots of water to flush the system and keep a heating pad on your lower back or tummy. Hang in there, buddy!

I haven't had a stent, but having PCOS makes me very cautious about pelvic and urinary tract discomfort. Please make sure you are not ignoring any fever or severe burning, as those could be signs of infection. Do check in with your treating doctor to be on the safer side.

I had a stent for three weeks after my stone surgery a few years ago. The spasm feeling can be quite bothersome, but drinking plenty of water and taking the medication prescribed by the doctor made it bearable. It is temporary, so do not worry.

Stent irritation is quite common after kidney stone procedures. Drinking barley water (jau ka paani) regularly can help soothe the urinary tract naturally. However, please consult your urologist before taking any heavy painkillers.
