How to relieve ulnar nerve pain?

I've been feeling a tingling sensation and numbness, along with pain, in my little finger and ring finger. The doctor said it's ulnar nerve compression. What can I do to relieve this ulnar nerve pain?

I got crazy tingling in my pinky finger from leaning on my elbows at my desk all day. I literally just stopped resting my elbows on hard surfaces and started keeping my arm straight while sleeping. The pain went away in a week, so try that first.

Please don't ignore that funny bone numbness like I did. I let it go for months thinking it was normal stiffness, and now I have permanent weakness in my grip. Go to a neurologist or ortho doctor and get it checked before it causes muscle wasting.

I have just started getting this sharp pain shooting down my elbow to my pinky finger. I am a bit scared to go to the doctor right away. Does keeping the arm straight with a towel at night really help reduce the pressure?

Ulnar nerve compression is common if you do heavy bicep curls or tricep extensions with bad form. Focus on nerve gliding exercises and make sure you aren't gripping the barbell too tightly. Give the joint some rest and focus on mobility work for a week.

If your nerve is compressed, resting it is the only way it will heal. Stop bending your arm tightly while holding your phone and don't sleep with folded elbows. If it doesn't get better, go get a proper nerve conduction test done.

My grandmother suggested applying warm sesame oil to my elbow, which felt very comforting. However, my doctor advised that keeping the elbow straight is the most scientific way to relieve the nerve. I combine both—gentle warmth and proper posture—and it really helps.

Splints online can be quite expensive, so I just wrapped a thick towel around my elbow and taped it to keep my arm straight at night. It works just as well and costs absolutely nothing. Save your money for a proper doctor's consultation if the pain persists.
