How to relieve tendonitis pain in knees?

Been playing a lot more badminton lately and my knees are really starting to ache, especially after a long game. My physio said it might be tendonitis. What can I do at home to help with this pain?

Reducing inflammatory foods like sugar and processed flour can sometimes help ease joint inflammation. Try adding turmeric and ginger to your daily diet for their natural anti-inflammatory properties. For the knee pain, give it complete rest and avoid deep bending.

I had patellar tendonitis from running last year. The best thing is the RICE protocol—Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. I iced my knee for 15 minutes thrice a day, and it worked wonders to bring down the sharp pain. Don't try to run through the pain, it only makes it worse.

My knee has been hurting right below the kneecap whenever I climb stairs, is this how tendonitis feels? I'm worried it might become a permanent joint issue. Does icing help instantly, or should I go see an orthopedic doctor right away?

I was researching knee pain for my father and found that tendonitis is basically tendon inflammation from repetitive strain. Wearing a knee sleeve or patellar tendon strap seems to support the joint and reduce load. It might be worth looking into along with doctor-guided physiotherapy.

When managing knee pain, we must also look at our overall weight and lifestyle, as extra weight puts immense pressure on the knees. I also have high BP, so I make sure to do gentle, low-impact walks and get regular health checkups. Don't take painkillers without checking with your doctor first.

For knee tendonitis, simple hot and cold fermentation can work wonders. Use an ice pack when the pain is fresh, and switch to a warm heating pad later to relax the muscles. Avoid climbing stairs as much as possible and use a western toilet to prevent deep bending of the knee.

Tendonitis in the knee is an overuse injury of the patellar tendon. My orthopedic doctor emphasized that stretching the quadriceps and hamstrings is crucial to relieve the pull on the knee joint. He also advised against deep squats until the acute inflammation subsides.

In my experience, using a simple neoprene knee sleeve during daily chores gave my knee great stability. I also avoided sitting with my knees bent tightly under the chair. I highly recommend consulting a specialist to get a proper diagnosis.

If your doctor permits, doing low-impact activities like swimming or stationary cycling is much better than complete bed rest for knee tendonitis. It keeps the joint lubricated without putting heavy impact on the tendon. Just avoid high-impact jumping or running for a while.

Haan, ghutne ka dard toh sach mein bahut pareshan karta hai na. Try applying an ice pack for 10-15 minutes after you walk. Warm oil massage is good, but when there is swelling, ice is much safer. Rest as much as possible.
