How to relieve stomach pain from overeating?

Yesterday, at a family dinner, I really overate, and now my stomach is hurting quite a bit. It feels heavy and crampy. What can I do to relieve this stomach pain from overeating?

Since my thyroid diagnosis, my metabolism slowed down and even small overeating episodes cause heavy stomach pain. I always tell people to get their thyroid levels checked if this happens too often. For now, try a slow walk and consult your doctor if the pain is severe.

Oh, that heavy bloated pain is the worst. Just sit upright and sip warm water, it will settle down in a bit.

I totally get it, festive food or buffet dinners can make us eat way past our limit and the pain is so uncomfortable. Just loosen any tight clothing and rest in a semi-reclined position with some pillows supporting your back. It will pass, just give it some time.

Please don't just brush it off as normal overeating if the pain is intense or keeps coming back. I once ignored what I thought was a heavy festive meal ache, and it turned out to be a severe gallbladder issue. If simple walking doesn't help in an hour, get it checked by a general physician.

I have tried everything from ajwain to jeera water over the years for festive bloating. The most reliable thing is boiling a teaspoon of saunf in water, straining it, and sipping it while it's warm. It relaxes the stomach muscles beautifully and relieves the heavy pressure.

Just take a slow, gentle walk around the room to help your digestive tract move the food. Avoid lying down immediately as that will cause bad acid reflux. Sip some lukewarm water, but don't gulp down bottles of liquids right now as it will bloat you further.

I had a bad gastritis attack after a heavy dinner that escalated quickly because I took random home remedies instead of seeing a doctor. If you feel any sharp pain, nausea, or sweating, please go to a clinic. Don't take self-treatment lightly when the stomach is under heavy stress.

Let your body heal itself and give your digestion some quiet time to recover today. Drink a small cup of warm fennel tea slowly with deep, calm breathing. Stay positive, eat very lightly tomorrow, and listen to what your body is telling you.
