How to relieve sit bone pain?

I've been doing a lot of cycling lately, and now I'm getting persistent sit bone pain, especially when I sit for long periods. It's quite uncomfortable. What can I do to relieve sit bone pain?

I also suffered from this sit bone pain due to long hours at my desk. Using a good memory foam cushion or donut pillow on your chair makes a huge difference.

With my thyroid condition, muscle and joint inflammation can take a long time to heal. If your sit bone pain doesn't improve with a cushion, please consult a physiotherapist or doctor to check for bursitis or deep muscle strain.

Honestly, sitting on my office chair for 12 hours a day has made my sit bones feel like they are grinding against concrete. I have started standing up and walking around every 45 minutes just to keep my backside from going numb. A cushion is a lifesaver.

Since I have PCOS, I try to be very careful with any persistent lower body pain or inflammation. A simple donut cushion really helped ease my sit bone discomfort during work hours, but if the pain continues, please do consult a doctor to be safe.

Ouch, sit bone pain is so annoying when you have to work! 🙈 Try doing some gentle hamstring stretches and definitely get a soft seat cushion. Take care and don't sit in one spot for too long! 😊

This is often ischial bursitis, which happens when your hamstrings are tight and you sit on hard surfaces. Focus on doing gentle hamstring and glute stretches daily, and try not to sit for more than an hour at a stretch. A balanced diet also helps with muscle recovery.

In my experience, as we grow older, the natural cushioning of our body reduces, and sitting on hard chairs causes this pain. Don't worry, just use a soft folded blanket or a proper orthopedic cushion whenever you sit down. It will resolve the discomfort gradually.
