How to relieve severe neck pain?

Since my new WFH setup, I've developed severe neck pain. It's stiff and aches constantly, making it hard to turn my head. What can I do to relieve this severe neck pain, maybe some stretches or heat therapy?

I often experience general muscle stiffness and joint pain because of my PCOS-related inflammation, so I am very cautious. For neck pain, I find using a thin cervical pillow instead of a thick one helps keep my neck aligned. Please don't try any heavy neck rotations if the pain is severe, just keep it supported.

Hey, take a deep breath and stop using your phone or looking down immediately. Keep your head straight, apply a cold pack if the pain is sudden, and rest your neck against a comfortable cushion. If the pain is shooting down your arms or causing any numbness, let me know and we will get a doctor to check it out right away.

I completely understand how terrifying it feels when you suddenly can't turn your head and start worrying about nerve damage. That anxiety is so real, but please try to relax your shoulders as stress makes the neck muscles tighten even more. A gentle warm compress helped me calm down both my mind and my neck pain.

Staring at my computer screen all day has turned my neck into a solid piece of wood! Honestly, a warm shower running over your shoulders and a good Ayurvedic pain spray is the only way I survive these severe neck catches. If that fails, I just sleep like a statue and hope for the best tomorrow.

While ergonomics adjustment and hot fomentation can provide temporary relief, severe neck pain shouldn't be self-treated blindly. It is crucial to have a qualified doctor assess whether the pain is muscular or structural. Getting a professional diagnosis will ensure you receive the correct physiotherapy plan.

Severe neck tension can sometimes cause headaches and even raise your blood pressure due to stress. I make sure to take breaks from my desk every hour and monitor my BP regularly. If the neck pain persists for more than two days, I always visit my physician to ensure my lifestyle habits aren't causing deeper issues.

Don't go cracking your neck or trying crazy stretches shown by random internet fitness influencers. Severe neck pain can be a sign of a cervical disc bulge or nerve compression, and wrong movements can make it much worse. Go to a hospital and get a proper diagnosis from an orthopedic specialist.
