How to relieve plantar fasciitis pain?

I've developed plantar fasciitis, and the heel pain, especially in the mornings, is terrible. My physiotherapist has given me exercises, but I'm looking for more immediate ways to relieve the pain throughout the day.

I was looking this up because my mother has terrible heel pain every morning when she steps out of bed. I read that rolling your foot over a frozen water bottle for 10 minutes can really help reduce the inflammation under the heel. It seems like a simple and very helpful trick to try at home.

While heel stretches can help, chronic heel pain can sometimes be due to a bone spur or a nerve compression. It is always safer to consult an orthopedist and get an X-ray done to understand the exact root cause of the pain. Don't start any heavy exercise routine before getting a professional diagnosis.

I have recently started getting this sharp pain in my heel when I stand up after sitting for a while. Is it true that wearing soft orthopedic slippers inside the house instead of walking barefoot can help relieve it? I would love to know what worked for others.

Gently stretching the calf muscles and the sole of your foot every morning before stepping on the ground can relieve the tension in the fascia. Sit in Vajrasana to improve circulation in the lower body, and practice gentle ankle rotations. Yoga teaches us to heal the body with patience and regular movement.

I panicked thinking I had some major bone decay when my heels started throbbing badly every morning. Turns out it was just standard plantar fasciitis caused by walking in flat canvas shoes. Switching to cushioned sports shoes and doing calf stretches completely resolved it in a month, so don't worry!

Plantar fasciitis is primarily an overuse injury of the plantar fascia ligament, often worsened by flat feet or improper footwear. Investing in good custom orthotic insoles with arch support is highly recommended by orthopedic specialists. A proper consultation will help you choose the right footwear and avoid long-term foot issues.
