How to relieve jaw pain after tooth extraction?

I got a tooth extracted a couple of days back, and though the tooth pain is gone, my jaw is aching quite a bit now. It feels a bit stiff and sore. Any tips on how to relieve this jaw pain?

After an extraction, some pain is normal, but if it's severe or getting worse, please don't just tough it out. I once thought it was fine and ended up with a dry socket, which was way more painful. Call your dentist, seriously, they'll guide you.

My mother used to say warm salt water rinses help with healing after extractions. You can try that gently. But since this is a post-procedure pain, it's very important to follow your dentist's specific instructions. If the pain is too much, call them, they might prescribe something stronger.

Pain after extraction is expected, but persistent or severe pain is not. Ensure you're not straining yourself, which can raise blood pressure and potentially worsen discomfort. Keep your follow-up appointments and discuss the pain levels openly with your dentist. They might need to check the healing site.

Haan, extraction ke baad dard to hota hi hai, normal hai. Doctor ne jo medicine di hai na, woh time par lena. Aur haan, garam-garam khana ya hard cheezein mat khaana bilkul. Soft food khao aur thodi ice pack try karo. Agar phir bhi zyada lage to unko phone kar lena.

Oh, tooth extraction sounds scary! I'm researching this because I might need one soon. So, it's normal to have jaw pain then? What kind of pain relief did your dentist suggest? I want to be prepared for what to expect.

Post-extraction pain is part of the recovery, but you need to manage it. Stick to the pain meds your dentist prescribed exactly as directed. Cold compresses can help with swelling for the first 24 hours, then switch to gentle warm compresses for the jaw. If it's still unbearable, ring your dentist, don't wait.
