How to relieve back pain from standing too long?

My work involves standing for most of my shift, and by the evening, my lower back is really stiff and painful. It's quite exhausting. Are there any effective tips or stretches to relieve back pain from standing too long?

Please, don't ignore this! I used to think it was just tiredness, but my standing job eventually led to chronic lower back issues. I should have seen a doctor sooner. Now I have to do physio regularly. Get it checked if it's constant, before it gets worse.

I work in retail, so I know this pain very well! What changed things for me was investing in really good, cushioned shoes and using arch supports. Also, I started doing gentle hamstring stretches throughout the day, even just leaning on a counter. It helps lengthen your spine and relieves pressure.

Aye, this pain from standing is very common, especially if you have to do it for work. My grandmother always said to put hot oil on the back, but for real relief, good footwear and taking small sitting breaks is important. Still, if it persists, best to check with the doctor.

For standing-related back pain, frequent micro-breaks are essential. Shift your weight, gently stretch your calves and hamstrings every 15-20 minutes. Good, supportive footwear makes a huge difference. If you can, use an anti-fatigue mat. These small changes fit into a busy schedule.

Standing too long? My back hurts just thinking about it! I usually just collapse on the bed and hope sleep magically fixes everything. (It doesn't always work, but one can dream, right?). Maybe a good stretch before bed helps? If I remember to do it, that is.
