How to relax before sleep?

I'm having a lot of trouble falling asleep lately, my mind keeps racing. I've tried counting sheep, but it's not working. What are some effective ways to relax before sleep, maybe some simple techniques?

Haan na, sometimes sleep doesn't come easily. I like to read a physical book, not on my phone, for like 20-30 minutes before bed. Or listen to some calm, soft music. No heavy thoughts, no planning for tomorrow. Bas, relax.

This is so crucial, I overthink everything before bed and then can't sleep! What helps me sometimes is a warm shower right before, or a few minutes of deep breathing exercises. Trying to clear my mind and not letting those anxious thoughts race is the hardest part, but focusing on breath helps a lot.

Don't just try every 'sleep hack' you see online. Some are harmless, some are useless. For real relaxation, try basic things that work: dim lights, no screen time at least an hour before bed, a quiet environment. If you consistently struggle, talk to a doctor about proper sleep hygiene or if there's an underlying issue.

For relaxation before sleep, what you eat and drink matters. Avoid caffeine after late afternoon and heavy, spicy meals close to bedtime. A glass of warm milk (if you tolerate dairy) or a calming herbal tea can be soothing. Focus on light, easy-to-digest dinners.

Good sleep is very important, especially for BP patients like me. I avoid any stimulating activities or heavy meals late in the evening. A short, gentle walk after dinner, followed by some light stretching, helps me. And yes, my doctor always emphasizes proper sleep as part of managing my blood pressure, along with regular checkups.
