How to reduce tooth cavity pain?

I have a terrible toothache right now, and I suspect it's a cavity. It's throbbing and making it hard to concentrate. What can I do for immediate relief from this tooth cavity pain until I see a dentist?

Oh god, cavity pain is the absolute worst, I used to panic thinking I'd lose my tooth! But usually, it's manageable until you can see a dentist. Clove oil applied directly on the tooth helps temporarily with the pain. Also, avoid very hot or very cold foods, they make it worse.

Tooth pain is difficult, beta. For cavity pain, first thing is to go to the dentist, haan. Until then, you can try putting a little bit of clove oil on the painful tooth with cotton. It gives some relief. Avoid eating anything hard or sweet on that side.

Cavity pain is a distraction, makes it hard to focus on anything, even workouts! While you definitely need to see a dentist, in the meantime, I avoid anything that might aggravate it, like very sugary or cold drinks. And sometimes, a light walk helps distract from the discomfort, but mainly, get that dental appointment!

For cavity pain, the only permanent solution is a dental visit, like a filling. Temporarily, you can rinse your mouth with warm salt water to reduce inflammation. An over-the-counter pain reliever like Ibuprofen can also help. Just don't put aspirin directly on the tooth, it can burn the gum.

I literally just got a cavity filled last week! Before my appointment, I was using clove oil – it really numbs the area for a bit. Also, I strictly avoided chewing on that side and stuck to soft foods. Don't delay seeing the dentist, trust me, it only gets worse.

Cavity pain means a trip to the dentist, which can be expensive, I know. But delaying it will make it even more costly with root canals later. So, better to get it filled quickly. For temporary relief, an ice pack on the cheek can help, and maybe a painkiller you already have at home until you get an appointment.
