How to reduce tonsil pain?

My throat has been very sore for the past two days, and it's particularly painful when I swallow because of my tonsils. I feel like they are swollen. What can I do to reduce this tonsil pain quickly?

When I feel my throat getting scratchy, my health app reminds me to increase my fluid intake. For tonsil pain, focusing on warm, clear liquids is key. Also, I use a humidifier at night, which helps keep my throat from drying out. Not a cure, but it provides comfort.

Oh, tonsil pain is absolutely awful, I totally get it! It's so hard to swallow anything. Warm salt water gargles are a lifesaver, and sipping on warm herbal tea with honey helps soothe it a bit. Hope you feel better really soon!

I've had tonsil pain many times. The best temporary relief is definitely frequent warm salt water gargles. Also, avoid anything cold, spicy, or very hard to swallow. Stick to soft, warm foods like khichdi or soup. If it's accompanied by fever or white spots, please see an ENT doctor without delay, as it might need antibiotics.

For tonsil pain, especially if it's severe, I don't waste time. I'll book a quick online consultation with an ENT. In the meantime, I'd rely on medicated throat lozenges and warm water gargles. Don't try to power through severe pain; it can get worse.
