How to reduce period pain immediately?

I'm having really bad period cramps right now, and I have to go out in an hour. Is there anything I can do to reduce period pain immediately? I'm almost doubled over.

Fill a PET bottle with hot water if you don't have a heating bag, and press it against your lower abdomen. It costs nothing and works immediately to soothe the cramp. Also, drink a cup of hot water with a spoonful of ajwain.

Immediate relief? I wish there was a magic switch because I haven't slept in 24 hours. The only thing that works instantly to dull the edge is lying down in the fetal position with a heating pad set to high.

My gynecologist explained that cramps are caused by prostaglandins making the uterus contract. She advised that applying local heat immediately dilates blood vessels and improves blood flow to reduce pain. If you need a pain reliever, please get a proper prescription.

It's so annoying when you are working, yaar. Actually, taking a warm shower immediately relaxes the pelvic muscles and helps calm the cramps. Try that if you are at home, it really works.

I was reading about acupressure points for instant period pain relief. Apparently, massaging the point on your inner leg, about four finger-widths above the ankle bone, helps relax the uterus. Might be worth a try right now.

Beti, make a hot cup of ginger water and drink it slowly. Lie down on your bed and keep your legs elevated on a couple of pillows to relieve the pressure on your lower back immediately.
