How to reduce pain in eyes?

I spend most of my day looking at a computer screen for work, and lately, my eyes have been feeling very strained and painful by evening. My ophthalmologist suggested taking breaks. Are there any other tips to reduce this eye pain and fatigue?

I completely understand how exhausting eye pain is, it literally ruins your whole day and makes you want to sit in a dark room. Please don't force yourself to work through it. Just close your eyes, take a complete screen break, and let your mind rest.

First, check if your specs power has changed because a simple eye exam is quite cheap, usually just 100 to 200 rupees at local clinics. Don't buy expensive lubricating drops blindly online. Get a basic checkup done first so you don't waste money on the wrong treatments.

I was reading about this yesterday because my eyes were burning. It seems dry eyes are super common now because of AC and screens, which causes that dull ache. Lubricating drops help apparently, but I'm planning to ask an ophthalmologist before buying any.

Bro, my eyes pain like crazy during semester exams because of continuous laptop use. Honestly, the 20-20-20 rule actually works, just look away at something far every 20 mins. Also, splash some normal water on your face, it feels so good.

I had severe eye strain and pressure last year from continuous IT work. What worked for me was limiting night-time screen use, using a warm compress for 5 minutes, and getting prescribed dry-eye drops. If the pain is sharp or you see flashes, don't wait and visit an eye specialist immediately.

Make sure you are drinking enough water throughout the day to keep your body and eyes hydrated. Adding foods rich in Vitamin A and green leafy veggies helps your general eye health over time. But for immediate pain, please consult an eye doctor.

With my PCOS, I get dry eyes and inflammation quite often due to hormonal fluctuations. I usually just rest my eyes in a dark room and avoid wearing contact lenses. It's always safer to let a professional check if there's any underlying infection.
