Ah, those monthly cramps make me feel like a broken machine every time. My only savior is my trusty old hot water bottle and a quiet dark room where no one asks me what is for dinner. Just take it easy, cuddle up, and let the family manage the chores for a day.

I used to suffer from severe, blinding menstrual cramps and just took over-the-counter painkillers thinking it was normal. It turned out I had severe endometriosis, which was diagnosed very late. Please, if your pain is so intense that it stops you from doing daily activities, get a proper ultrasound and consult a specialist.

Please don't push yourself to work through that intense pain. Make yourself a warm cup of ginger tea, use a heating pad on your lower abdomen, and get some proper rest today. If the pain becomes completely unbearable, don't hesitate to consult a gynecologist, okay? Take care.

An over-the-counter antispasmodic tablet can help relax the uterine muscles, but it is best to take it after consulting a healthcare professional. Applying localized heat for 15-20 minutes really helps improve blood flow and ease the spasm. Make sure to stay hydrated and avoid cold drinks which can make you feel bloated.

Instead of buying expensive single-use heating patches, invest in a simple, reusable electric hot water bag which costs very little and lasts for years. If your doctor suggests getting an ultrasound to rule out cysts, look for government diagnostic centers or local trust clinics where these scans are done at a fraction of the cost.
