Hey, take a deep breath, gastric pain can feel really sharp and scary, but it usually passes quickly. Drink a glass of lukewarm water and sit upright—don't lie down immediately as that makes the acid rise. If it doesn't get better in an hour or if you feel dizzy, let me know and we can check with a doc.

I have dealt with severe gastric issues for years and tried everything from ginger to cold milk. What works best for quick relief is drinking a glass of warm water with half a teaspoon of carom seeds (ajwain) and a pinch of black salt. It gently settles the stomach acid and releases the trapped gas within minutes.

For quick relief, you can chew on a few fennel seeds (saunf) or have a cup of warm mint tea, which helps relax the digestive tract. If you are using over-the-counter antacids, just remember they are for occasional use only. If you need them daily, it is time to consult a doctor to check for underlying acidity issues.

I totally get it, gastric pain can be so sharp that it literally stops you in your tracks and makes you feel so uncomfortable. When I get it, I find that holding a warm water bag against my upper abdomen helps soothe the cramping. Try to rest and avoid any solid food until your stomach calms down.

It is so easy to panic when you get sudden, sharp pain in your chest or upper stomach area, your mind instantly fears the worst. I always feel anxious too. Try to calm your breathing, sip some cold water slowly, and sit comfortably. Knowing that it's likely just gastric pressure can help you relax and let the pain pass.

I recently started getting this burning sensation in my stomach after eating spicy food at the hostel. Is it safe to drink cold milk to reduce the burning immediately? I have never had gastric issues before, so I am a bit confused about what to do.

Does anyone else get a weird, dull ache in their upper chest along with gastric pain? It always makes me super nervous that it might be something related to my heart, even though it goes away after I burp. I would love to know if this is a common experience for others too.
