How to reduce fever in 2 month old?

My newborn, only 2 months old, has a mild fever and I'm quite concerned. What can I do to help reduce his fever safely at home? Please suggest some gentle ways for such a tiny baby.

I totally understand how terrifying it is to see your tiny 2-month-old baby with a fever; I cried the whole night when it happened to my daughter. Please take a deep breath. At this fragile age, any fever must be checked by a pediatrician immediately, so please don't wait at home.

I panicked and rushed to the emergency room when my two-month-old felt warm. The doctor reassured us and explained that babies can't regulate heat well. Just keep breastfeeding them frequently and let the pediatrician guide you on the safe, exact infant drops dosage.

While you are preparing to go to the clinic, dress the baby in just a single thin cotton onesie. Do not bundle them in heavy blankets or woolen caps, as this will raise their temperature further. Keep feeding them breast milk to prevent dehydration.

Dealing with chronic health issues has taught me that we must never guess medical care, especially for newborns. A fever in a 2-month-old requires a proper medical checkup to find the cause. Please contact your pediatrician right away and follow up as advised.

I totally get it, seeing your tiny newborn sick is absolutely heartbreaking. The best thing is to do skin-to-skin cuddles to soothe them and call your doctor immediately. Do not give any over-the-counter medicine at this age without an exact doctor's prescription.
