How to reduce bursitis pain?

My shoulder has been bothering me for a few months, and the physiotherapist said it's bursitis. The pain can be quite sharp, especially when I lift my arm. Besides the exercises, what else can I do at home to help reduce this bursitis pain?

I deal with chronic joint inflammation due to PCOS, and cold packs really help soothe my joint flare-ups. Make sure you don't overexert the painful area and rest as much as possible.

My grandmother used to recommend warm sesame oil massages for joint aches. However, for bursitis, resting the joint and taking doctor-prescribed anti-inflammatory meds is what actually worked for me.

Please be careful; I ignored my hip pain thinking it was normal muscle soreness and it turned into severe chronic bursitis. Do not self-treat with random exercises, go get an orthopedic checkup.

I know how stressful it is when joint pain makes simple movements hard and you start fearing the worst. Start with basic rest and ice packs, and consult a physiotherapist to ease your mind.

Stop putting pressure on that joint. Bursitis needs complete rest, ice therapy, and if it still swells up, you must see a doctor for fluid drainage or proper meds.
