How to reach rem sleep?

I've been struggling with insomnia for a while, and even when I sleep, I don't feel rested. I read about REM sleep and how important it is. How can I ensure I reach proper REM sleep?

When my teenager was struggling with deep sleep due to exam stress, we started a strict screen-free rule one hour before bed. It took about two weeks, but their sleep quality improved dramatically. Try keeping all phones in the living room at night, it really helps the brain relax.

I am trying to fix my sleep cycle because I always wake up tired. Does drinking chamomile tea or warm milk actually help us reach deeper REM sleep, or is it just a myth? I would love to know what worked for you guys.

To get quality REM sleep, you need to stop consuming caffeine after 2 PM and stick to a consistent wake-up time, even on weekends. Your body operates on a circadian rhythm, so you can't cheat your way to deep sleep with irregular timings.

At my age, deep sleep doesn't come easily, but I have found that a calm mind is the key. Spending 10 minutes in quiet meditation or listening to soft music before sleeping helps the brain transition into deep, restful sleep. Don't worry, just quieten your mind.

I agree completely, keeping the bedroom completely dark and cool is the single best way to get uninterrupted deep sleep.

Actually yaar, I used to sleep for 8 hours but still feel exhausted. I realized that drinking alcohol or eating heavy meals right before sleeping was totally ruining my REM sleep. Once I kept a 3-hour gap, my sleep became so much better.
