How to put mac to sleep?

My Mac sometimes stays awake even when I close the lid, and I worry it's overheating or draining battery. What's the reliable way to put my Mac to sleep when I'm not using it?

Honestly, the easiest way is just to close the lid and walk away! Or just click that little Apple logo in the top left corner and hit Sleep. Don't stress, your Mac needs its beauty sleep just as much as we do after a long day.

I do this multiple times a day during my work breaks. You can simply press the Option, Command, and Media Eject keys together if you like shortcuts. Or just the power button works great on newer models to lock it quickly.

Actually, I set a hot corner on my screen for this. I just drag my cursor to the bottom right and it automatically goes into sleep mode. It keeps my screen time tracker accurate too so it doesn't count idle hours.

Usually closing the laptop lid should put it to sleep immediately. But if the screen stays warm or the fan keeps running, get the battery and hardware checked at an authorized center. Don't ignore overheating issues as it can be unsafe.

I used to always shut it down fully but my friend told me putting it to sleep is much better. Just click the Apple icon on top left and select Sleep, it's so quick. It saves your battery and opens up instantly when you need it again.
