How to prevent skin cancer after a bad sunburn?

A few years ago, I got a really bad sunburn on my back after a beach trip, and it peeled horribly. Now I'm always worried about skin cancer. What can I do to prevent skin cancer, especially after a bad sunburn?

After a bad sunburn, prevention means being extra careful with your skin. Always use sunscreen with a high SPF, even on cloudy days. Wear hats and full-sleeve clothes when you're out in the sun. And keep an eye on any moles or spots on your skin – if they change, show them to a doctor quickly.

While my main focus is managing diabetes through diet and lifestyle, skin care is important for everyone. After a bad burn, stay out of direct sun. Hydrate well from inside, and maybe consult a dermatologist for regular skin checks, especially since damaged skin can be more sensitive.

Beti, after such a burn, you must protect your skin very well. Don't go in harsh sun. Wear light cotton clothes that cover you fully. And keep applying aloe vera gel to soothe the skin. But for cancer prevention, it is best to consult a skin doctor for regular checkups, they know best.

I once got a terrible sunburn too, it was so painful! After it healed, I became super diligent about sun protection. Apart from high SPF sunscreen, I found wearing long-sleeved, lightweight clothing and avoiding direct sun from 10 am to 4 pm helped a lot. Also, self-examining your skin regularly for any changes is crucial.

Oh no, a bad sunburn is no fun! 😟 After it heals, become best friends with sunscreen, SPF 50+ is your buddy! 🧴 And avoid peak sun hours, wear big hats and cool sunglasses. Most importantly, keep an eye on your skin regularly for any changes, and if you see anything weird, straight to the derm! ✨

That's a scary thought, skin cancer after a sunburn. Did anyone else get really anxious about their moles after a bad burn? I'm always checking mine now. I try to wear full coverage clothes and use sunscreen all the time. Should I get a full body check with a dermatologist every year?
