How to prevent pain in ears while flying?

I travel a lot for work, and almost every flight, especially during landing, my ears start hurting so badly. Someone told me it's due to pressure changes. How can I prevent this ear pain when flying?

This is a common issue! The best tips I've gathered over years are to chew gum or suck on hard candies during takeoff and landing. Swallowing helps open the Eustachian tubes. Also, try the Valsalva maneuver – hold your nose and gently try to exhale through it.

Not exactly a fitness tip, but I always make sure I'm well-hydrated before a flight. Dehydration can make your body, including your ears, more sensitive to pressure changes. Maybe a short walk before boarding to get the blood flowing also helps feel less congested.

Ho na, the ear pain while flying is so annoying! I always keep chewing gum with me. It helps a lot during take-off and landing. Aur agar thoda cold ya block nose hai, toh it becomes worse, so try to clear that before flying, maybe with some steam.

Hey! Don't stress too much about it. It's super common. Just get some gum, like seriously, chew it like your life depends on it during take-off and landing. Or keep sipping water. It helps equalize the pressure. You'll be fine, just enjoy the flight!

Pressure-regulating earplugs are your best bet. Buy them at the airport. Otherwise, try to stay awake and chew gum or suck on a lozenge during ascent and descent. Yawning deliberately also helps. It's all about equalizing the pressure in your inner ear.

I used to get really anxious about my ears hurting on flights, it feels so uncomfortable. It's okay to feel that way. What helped me was knowing *why* it happens – pressure changes – and then trying those chewing and yawning techniques. It's mostly about managing the pressure.

Chewing slowly helps a lot. Or yawn widely. These simple movements help clear the ears. Don't be afraid to try them.

Yeah, bro, it sucks! I always carry earplugs specifically for flying, those pressure-regulating ones. They actually work! Or just keep yawning big time during ascent and descent. Don't sleep during those times, that's when it gets bad.
