How to prepare oats for diabetic patients with milk?

For my diabetes, I'm trying to switch to healthier breakfast options. I want to try oats with milk. How should I prepare oats for diabetic patients specifically with milk, so it's both nutritious and safe?

Hello, I'm also trying to figure this out for my uncle. Should we use full-fat milk or toned milk? And what about adding fruits?

Okay, so for diabetics, use plain rolled oats, not instant. Cook with skimmed milk or even water. Avoid any added sugar. You can add a few nuts or seeds for fibre but check with your doctor about quantities.

Beta, oats are good, but portion control is key. And always use low-fat milk, ideally no sugar. Some people add a pinch of cinnamon, they say it helps with sugar control, but do ask your doctor first.

Namaste ji. Mere ghar pe bhi ek relative ko diabetes hai. Hum toh doodh thoda kam daalte hai aur paani zyada. Aur shakkar bilkul nahi. Bas thoda namak aur kali mirch daal ke khaate hai. Simple rakho, accha rehta hai.

Please, please check with their doctor or a dietician. I thought I knew what was best for my mom, and her sugars went a bit haywire. What works for one person might not for another, especially with diabetes. Get professional advice!

Honestly, the best thing is to do a glucose test after they eat it the first few times. Yeah, it costs a little, but it saves so much hassle and hospital bills later. Use a small portion, skim milk, and no sugar. Test and then adjust.

Initially, I was so scared to give my dad anything new. But oats are actually really good, just need to be smart about it. We use unsweetened soy milk sometimes too. Don't panic, just follow the doctor's general guidelines.

Besides preparing it right (no sugar, low-fat milk), remember that a small walk after meals really helps manage blood sugar. My trainer always emphasizes combining diet with some activity, if the doc permits, of course.
