How to prepare fresh kidney beans?

I bought some fresh kidney beans (rajma) from the market for the first time. I usually use dried ones, so I'm not sure how to best prepare these fresh ones for cooking. Any tips?

Oh, fresh kidney beans! I usually only see the dried ones. I guess for fresh ones, you just have to string them like green beans, remove the ends, and then boil them directly? No soaking needed since they're fresh, right? Sounds much simpler.

Fresh kidney beans? Haan, woh toh sidha boil kar sakte ho na. Like normal sabzi. Bas ache se dho lo aur thoda steam kar lo ya pani mein ubaal lo jab tak naram na ho jaye. Taste bhi alag aata hai fresh ka.

For fresh kidney beans, you don't need to soak them like dried ones. Just wash them thoroughly, trim the ends if needed, and then boil or steam until tender. They cook much faster. You can use them in salads or curries directly. Very simple!

Even fresh kidney beans should be cooked properly, never eaten raw. They contain a natural toxin that cooking destroys. If you're sensitive or have digestive issues, always ensure they are well-cooked. For any unusual symptoms, better check with a doctor, don't take risks.

Amma always told us that fresh beans, like kidney beans, just need a good wash and then you can boil them until tender. Some people might blanch them first. It's different from the dried ones, no soaking needed. But always follow doctor's advice for health matters, cooking tips are for taste.
