How to numb tooth pain?

I have this terrible toothache that started this morning, and it's making it hard to concentrate. Before I can see a dentist, what are some ways to numb tooth pain? I just need some temporary relief.

Oh, tooth pain! The universe's way of telling you that you're getting old and your teeth are revolting. For temporary numbing, clove oil works wonders, but honestly, it just buys you time to book that dreaded dentist appointment. Don't ignore it like I did my hairline!

Please be very careful with online remedies for tooth pain. Many things you read can actually make it worse or just delay proper treatment. Tooth pain usually means something is genuinely wrong, so verification with a dentist is absolutely essential. Don't experiment.

I've always wondered about this too! Like, can you really just put something on it and make it go away? I read about clove oil and cold compresses, but I'm always scared to try anything without knowing for sure if it's safe. It sounds so painful.

Numb tooth pain? I'd take a hammer to it if it meant sleeping for more than 4 hours straight. Seriously though, clove oil is a classic, but the only real numb is when the dentist gives you that injection. Go to the dentist, don't suffer!

When you consult a good dentist, make sure to describe the pain precisely – where it is, how often, what makes it worse or better. My dentist always says clear communication helps in accurate diagnosis. They might suggest a temporary gel or medication, but the cause needs fixing.

Oh god, tooth pain is my worst nightmare. It feels like it throbs through your whole head. Has anyone else felt like it gets worse at night? I get so anxious thinking about it. For a quick fix, I sometimes hold a cold pack to my cheek, but it's not a solution.
