How to not get sleep paralysis?

Sometimes when I'm just waking up, I feel like I'm completely conscious but can't move my body, it's really scary! My friend said it might be sleep paralysis. How can I make sure I don't get sleep paralysis again?

Look, sleep paralysis usually happens when your sleep cycle is totally messed up because of late-night phone scrolling. Fix your bedtime, sleep on your side instead of flat on your back, and stop watching horror movies before sleeping. If it keeps happening frequently, just go see a doctor.

Please don't believe people who say sleep paralysis is due to bad spirits or can be cured with copper rings and chants. It is a scientific neurological transition state between sleeping and waking. If it is affecting your quality of life, consult a neurologist or a sleep specialist for proper medical guidance.

In our fast-paced city life, extreme physical exhaustion and sleep deprivation are the primary triggers for these episodes. Focus on maintaining a consistent sleep routine, even on weekends, and avoid caffeine late in the evening. It's about sleep hygiene, nothing more.

I used to get sleep paralysis twice a week and it was terrifying, but I learned how to manage it. When it happens, don't try to fight or scream—just focus all your energy on wiggling your big toe or blinking rapidly, and you'll snap out of it. Also, maintaining a fixed sleep schedule is key.

I recently recovered from a phase of frequent sleep paralysis after addressing my chronic anxiety and sleep apnea with a doctor. Once my underlying anxiety was managed with proper therapy and a better bedtime routine, the episodes completely stopped. Please prioritize your mental peace.

In my younger days, whenever I slept late after long hours of stressful travel, I would experience this heavy feeling. I realized that keeping the mind calm before sleeping and praying helped a lot. Do not be afraid, it is just your body resting deeply while your mind woke up a bit too early.
