I totally get it, seeing so many people around us get diagnosed with diabetes is really worrying. It makes you feel like it's almost unavoidable, but small changes like cutting down on daily sugar and walking after meals can really help. Don't stress, just take it one healthy step at a time.
In our days, we ate traditional grains like ragi and barley, and did plenty of physical work. While drinking a little methi water in the morning is good for digestion, it cannot replace medical care. Make sure you get your blood sugar tested annually as recommended by your family doctor.
Since managing my son's health, we have changed our whole kitchen routine to protect the family. We completely stopped buying processed juices and biscuits, and replaced them with whole fruits and roasted chana. Keeping children active and feeding them balanced meals early on is the best shield.
Practicing daily yogasanas like Mandukasana and Kapalbhati pranayama helps gently stimulate the pancreas and improves insulin sensitivity. Along with yoga, a mindful diet free from processed junk is essential. It is a beautiful way to keep your mind and body balanced, but do keep checking your levels with a doctor.
I am a bit worried because my father has diabetes and I want to prevent getting it in the future. Is it true that completely stopping rice is necessary, or are there better ways to manage carbs? I am just starting to learn about this and would really appreciate your guidance.
Preventing diabetes is all about finding joy in healthy habits! Swap those sweet sodas for refreshing lime water and find a sport or dance class you actually enjoy doing. Keeping active doesn't have to be boring, just stay positive and keep moving!
