How to not get a heart attack?

My father had a heart attack when he was 60, and I'm nearing that age now. My blood pressure is a bit high sometimes. What lifestyle changes or precautions can I take to make sure I don't get a heart attack?

A lot of it comes down to what we put on our plate daily. Reducing heavy refined oils, vanaspati, and excess salt in our Indian cooking can make a huge difference for your arteries. Focus on whole grains, leafy greens, and nuts, but do get your lipid profile checked by a professional regularly.

Seeing my dad go through a cardiac scare really changed how our whole family looks at health. Now we focus on keeping stress levels low through regular breaks and getting annual health checkups done. It is so important to listen to your body and never ignore even mild chest discomfort.

Honestly, I got a massive wake-up call last year when my cholesterol levels came back crazy high at just 27. I immediately cut down on deep-fried street food and started doing basic cardio for 30 minutes daily. It is all about starting early, dont wait for a warning sign to change your lifestyle.

Don't let the fear of heart attacks consume you, just take small practical steps every day. Make sure you get 7 hours of quality sleep, cut down on smoking if you do, and walk whenever you can. If you ever feel sudden chest tightness, heavy sweating, or pain radiating to your arm, please go to an emergency room immediately.

Absolutely, managing daily stress and sleeping on time are just as important as diet for your heart.

My grandmother always used to say that eating garlic and drinking warm water keeps the heart clean. While those traditional habits are good for digestion, I strictly follow my doctor's advice on keeping blood pressure and sugar under check. Regular screening is the only real way to stay safe.
