When handling any chemical or fuel mixture, please make sure you wash your hands thoroughly afterwards with a good soap. You definitely don't want any chemical residue on your hands when handling or preparing food later.
Do your work mindfully and with a calm heart. Ensure you mix the oil and petrol in a quiet, open space outdoors where you can breathe fresh air and avoid inhaling the strong fuel vapor.
I remember feeling so overwhelmed and frustrated trying to get my lawnmower started with the wrong fuel mix. It is completely okay to find these tasks tricky at first, just take a deep breath and use a proper measuring cup.
Make sure you use high-quality 2T oil and fresh petrol. Also, remember that inhaling petrol fumes contains harmful VOCs, so if you experience any respiratory irritation, it's best to consult a medical professional rather than self-treating.
Use a 50:1 ratio which means 20 ml of 2T oil for every 1 liter of petrol, and shake it well.
Just don't use your kitchen measuring cups unless you want your tea to taste like premium unleaded petrol! Keep a separate plastic bottle marked for this and you'll be fine.
If you accidentally inhale too much fuel vapor and feel a headache or nausea, don't ignore it. Just like I consult my physician at Max Hospital for any discomfort, you should step into fresh air and seek medical advice if you feel unwell.
It's standard math. For a 40:1 mix, you need 25ml of oil per liter of petrol. Buy a dedicated mixing bottle from Amazon, it has the lines marked and makes the job foolproof.
I used to panic thinking a slight error would explode my generator, but it's really not that sensitive. Just aim for the correct ratio as closely as you can, give it a good shake, and it will run perfectly.
I tried mixing fuel for my trimmer after a sleepless night and ended up spilling half of it on my shoes. Please do this when you are actually awake and alert, otherwise your whole house will smell of petrol!
