How to measure pain?

My knees have been aching a lot lately, and sometimes it's hard to explain to my family how bad the pain is. Is there a way to measure pain objectively, or is it always just a feeling? I'm curious how doctors quantify it.

Hey, don't stress too much about tracking it with some complex formula. Usually, doctors just ask you to rate your pain on a scale of 1 to 10, where 10 is the worst. Just be honest about how bad it feels so they can help you feel better!

Look, pain is subjective, but you need to see if it is disturbing your sleep or daily work. If it's a mild ache, it's fine, but if it's sudden and severe like chest pain or extreme abdominal cramps, don't waste time measuring it—go straight to a clinic.

Try to sit quietly and observe where the tension is held in your body. When we practice gentle breathing, we can feel if the pain is sharp, dull, or just muscular stiffness, which helps us understand our healing progress naturally.

I always find it thoda difficult to explain my pain levels to the doctor during my checkup. Is there a simple chart or app we can use to write down when the pain starts and how it feels?

Bro, just track if the pain gets worse when you move or if it stays constant. I had sports injuries and rating it from 1 to 10 every morning helped me see if my recovery was actually working or if I needed to see the doc again.
