How to massage neck pain?

After spending so much time on my laptop for work, my neck feels so stiff and painful. Someone suggested a good massage can help, but I'm not sure how to do it myself or if there are specific techniques. Any tips on how to properly massage neck pain?

Use warm sesame oil to massage the sides of your neck and shoulders with gentle, downward strokes. Along with this, make sure to drink warm ginger tea to help reduce internal inflammation, and avoid eating cold or stale food which can aggravate joint stiffness.

Please be extremely careful. I once tried to aggressively massage away what I thought was a simple 'sprain,' but it was actually a cervical disc bulge and the rough rubbing made it much worse. If you have tingling or numbness in your arms, go see a doctor immediately.

I freaked out when my neck got so stiff I couldn't turn my head, thinking it was a major nerve block. But my doctor said it was just muscle fatigue from a bad sleeping posture. A very gentle massage with warm coconut oil and a hot compress resolved it in two days, so don't worry!

I had severe neck stiffness last month, and I found that gently squeezing the shoulder muscles on either side of the neck with my opposite hand helped the most. I avoid massaging the spine area directly as I don't want to mess up anything sensitive.

Staring at restaurant menus and my phone all day gives me a terrible 'tech neck.' I just use some warm pain relief oil and massage the base of my skull in small circular motions using my thumbs. It instantly relieves that heavy pressure so I can enjoy my dinner in peace!

Bro, just rub some pain relief gel on the back of your neck and use your fingers to gently sweep outward toward your shoulders. Don't let anyone crack your neck or apply heavy pressure. Keep it light, put a hot water bag, and take a break from your computer screen.
