How to manage rheumatoid arthritis?

My mother was recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, and she's finding it hard to move her hands and knees in the mornings. We want to help her be more comfortable. How can we help her manage rheumatoid arthritis at home?

Hello, my mother was recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and her finger joints are very stiff in the morning. Is it safe for her to use warm water fomentation daily, or should we ask her rheumatologist first?

Haan, arthritis ka dard winter season mein kaafi badh jata hai na. Keeping your joints warm and doing very light hand exercises as advised by your doctor can help with the stiffness.

Sending you strength. Please make sure to rest your joints during painful flares and follow your doctor's treatment plan carefully.

I know how depressing it feels when you can't even open a jar or hold a cup due to joint pain. It is completely okay to feel frustrated, but please stay in touch with your doctor to adjust your therapy for better relief.

Consult a rheumatologist

Since autoimmune conditions can be very complex, what works for one person might not work for another. It is always safest to consult a rheumatologist rather than self-managing joint swelling.

My father has been dealing with this for five years. He takes his prescribed disease-modifying drugs regularly, and doing simple, low-impact joint movements in warm water has helped him maintain hand flexibility.
