How to manage neuropathic pain?

My father, he's 56, has been having this shooting pain in his legs for a while now. The doctor said it's neuropathic pain. Is there something we can do at home to help him manage it better?

I know nerve pain can feel incredibly frustrating and exhausting, but please don't lose heart. Make sure you sit with a good neurologist who can find the exact cause and prescribe the right nerve care medications, okay?

For me, keeping my daily blood sugar strictly under control was the only way to get relief from diabetic neuropathy. Always monitor your glucose levels regularly and work closely with your doctor to manage this.

I totally get it, that constant burning or tingling sensation makes even normal daily tasks so difficult to manage. Please take plenty of rest and avoid any sudden physical strain while you are undergoing medical treatment.

If your doctor allows, some very light stretching exercises and maintaining a balanced, nutrient-rich diet can help improve blood circulation. Just don't push yourself too hard if the pain is active.
