How to manage eczema?

I've had eczema since childhood, and sometimes it flares up badly, making my skin very dry and itchy. I try to avoid triggers, but it's hard. What are some good daily routines or products to help manage eczema and keep flare-ups minimal?

I know how frustrating and embarrassing eczema flare-ups can be, especially when people stare at your skin. It takes a toll on your confidence, but please hang in there. Finding the right moisturizer helps a lot.

With my busy schedule, I can't do complex skincare. I just apply a heavy, fragrance-free moisturizer immediately within 3 minutes of bathing to lock in moisture, which keeps flare-ups under control.

Avoid using harsh soaps and taking very hot showers, as they dry out the skin. Stick to lukewarm water and mild, soap-free cleansers.

Keep your skin hydrated with ceramide-based creams. For severe itching, your dermatologist might prescribe a mild steroid or non-steroidal ointment; use it strictly as directed and don't overapply.

Applying pure virgin coconut oil has really helped soothe my dry, itchy patches. However, if your skin becomes raw, oozes, or looks infected, please see a dermatologist immediately.
