How to manage asthma without medication?

I've been using asthma medication for a long time, but I'm worried about side effects in the long run. Are there any effective ways to manage asthma symptoms naturally or through lifestyle changes without needing medication constantly? My friend told me about some yoga poses.

You can support your lungs by avoiding triggers like cold air, dust, incense smoke, and pet dander. However, asthma is inflammatory, and lifestyle steps alone cannot replace your primary medical treatment.

My grandmother always suggests drinking warm ginger-honey water for wheezing, which is soothing. But we must strictly follow the pulmonologist's advice and keep emergency medicines ready.

I tried going off my asthma meds last winter and had a horrible relapse. Since then, I do my breathing exercises daily but strictly take my daily preventative inhaler as told by my doctor.

In my experience with blood pressure, lifestyle control is great but medicines are critical when things go high. For asthma, you should never stop medication without a doctor's clear okay.

Beta, practicing Pranayama like Anulom Vilom daily helps strengthen the lungs slowly. But never play with breathing issues; always keep your doctor's medicines close to you.

I know we all want to manage our conditions naturally, just like I try with my PCOS. But asthma can be very unpredictable, so please don't stop your medical treatment suddenly.

Make sure to keep your home super clean and dust-free! 🧹 Also, steam inhalation with a drop of eucalyptus oil can sometimes feel very soothing for congested airways.
