How to make yourself sleep faster?

I'm a light sleeper and it takes me ages to actually fall asleep. I need to be able to sleep faster. What are some good ways to get myself to sleep more quickly?

As someone managing diabetes, my sleep depends a lot on my blood sugar. If I eat a heavy carbohydrate dinner late, my sleep is completely ruined. Try keeping your dinner light and at least three hours before bedtime.

With my hectic work shift, sleep is a luxury. I found that preparing my work clothes and bag for the next morning helps reduce my bedtime anxiety, making me fall asleep much faster without racing thoughts.

A warm cup of chamomile tea and some light soft music works like magic for me! ☕️ Just keep all those stressful work emails away after 9 PM and pamper yourself a bit.

I also struggle a lot with getting to sleep early. Does anyone know if drinking warm milk really works, or does it cause acidity at night? I am a bit scared to try it.

Haan yaar, late night screen time toh sabse bada dushman hai sleep ka. Phone side pe rakh do aur light off kar do na, 15 minute me khud hi aankhein band hone lagengi.

I totally understand how frustrating it is to keep twisting and turning. What worked for me was setting my phone to 'Do Not Disturb' at 10 PM. Once the constant pinging stops, my brain finally gets the signal to shut down.

Does anyone else get that sudden jolt of panic just when they are about to drift off? It makes me so scared to sleep and then I stay awake the whole night. How do you guys manage that?

Over the years, I have realized that sleep cannot be forced by worrying about it. If you can't sleep, just read a printed book under a dim light. Eventually, your eyelids will grow heavy naturally.

Beta, just wash your hands and feet with cool water and remember God before sleeping. Don't think about tomorrow's worries at night, everything will be fine.

Try doing five minutes of Bhramari pranayama before sleeping. It has a deeply calming effect on the nervous system. Gently close your eyes, focus on your brow center, and make the humming bee sound.
