How to make sure mac doesn't sleep?

I'm working on a long project on my Mac, and I keep having to tap the keyboard to prevent it from going to sleep. It's really disruptive. Is there a setting or a trick to make sure my Mac doesn't sleep while I'm working or when it's idle for a bit?

I use a free app called Amphetamine on my Mac. It keeps the screen active during long video rendering jobs without messing up my system settings.

Beta, you can just go to system settings and increase the display time. Make sure you don't strain your eyes working too late on the computer, health is wealth.

I wish I had a 'caffeinate' command for my own body after 9 PM! For Mac, just use the terminal command or change lock screen settings to never sleep.

Go to System Settings > Lock Screen, and set 'Turn display off on battery/power adapter when inactive' to 'Never'. This is the cleanest way without installing third-party apps.

Using Terminal command 'caffeinate' keeps the Mac awake. I used to work long hours on my Mac ignoring my constant fatigue, which turned out to be thyroid. Do check your health regularly.
