How to make kidney beans in a crock pot?

I recently got a crock pot and I'm looking for easy, healthy recipes. Kidney beans are a favorite, so I thought I'd try making them in the crock pot. Any advice on how to make kidney beans in a crock pot for the best results?

I totally get it, slow cooking can be a bit confusing if you are used to pressure cookers. Just remember you must boil the kidney beans on a stove first for 10 minutes before slow cooking to destroy the natural toxins.

Slow cooking in a crock pot mimics traditional clay pot cooking, which keeps the prana and nutrition of the rajma intact. Cook them slowly with ginger and black pepper for easy assimilation.

When cooking beans in a crock pot, do not add any salt or acidic ingredients like tomatoes until the very end, or the beans will remain tough and won't soften properly.

Just soak them overnight, boil them briefly, and then let them cook on low in your crock pot for 6 to 8 hours with your favorite spices. It turns out incredibly soft.

I always add a pinch of hing and a small piece of ginger while slow cooking rajma. It is a simple kitchen remedy that completely prevents the heavy bloating feeling afterwards.

Crock pots are great if you love the smell of rajma torturing you for 8 hours straight before you can actually eat it! Just make sure you soak them well first.
