How to make a fever go away fast?

My husband has been down with a really bad fever since last night, and we want him to recover fast. Besides medication, what other steps can we take to make a fever go away quickly? He has to travel for work soon.

The fastest way is to address the underlying cause. Take a standard antipyretic after consulting a doctor, and rest completely so your immune system can recover.

I had a bad fever last month. Along with paracetamol, drinking coconut water and ORS kept my energy levels up and helped me break the fever quickly.

Please don't wrap yourself in heavy blankets even if you feel chilly, as it traps the heat. Use a thin sheet and stay in a well-ventilated room.

I just recovered from viral fever. Honestly, there's no overnight cure; you need to rest, eat simple home-cooked food, and let the prescribed medicines do their job.

When my kids get a fever, I immediately do wet therapy with normal water on their forehead and limbs. It helps lower the temperature safely before the doctor's visit.

If you have difficulty breathing, chest pain, or the fever crosses 103, please go to the nearest emergency room immediately. Don't try home remedies in such cases.
