How to lower fever without medicine?

My wife has a mild fever but she's not a fan of taking too many medicines. Can someone tell me what natural ways or home remedies I can try to help reduce her fever? Just looking for some tips to make her more comfortable.

That's a good question! I often wonder if there are effective ways to reduce fever without always resorting to medicines. I've heard about cold compresses, but also that lukewarm baths are better. And definitely lots of fluids. What else works, I'm curious to know?

For anyone with existing health issues like thyroid problems, relying solely on non-medicinal ways to lower fever can be risky if it's high or persistent. While rest, hydration, and cool compresses are good supportive measures, always keep your doctor informed. They might want to check if the fever is affecting your thyroid levels or if a specific infection needs treatment.

Lower fever without medicine? My main way to avoid medicine is to avoid getting sick, which usually means getting proper sleep. Which never happens, haha. But when I actually get a fever, I just drink like five litres of water, put a wet cloth on my head, and pray for sleep to kick in and fix everything.

Sure, there are definitely ways to support your body in lowering fever without immediate medicine, especially for mild cases. Tepid sponging (using lukewarm, not cold, water), ensuring adequate fluid intake (water, clear broth), wearing light clothing, and getting proper rest are key. These help your body regulate its temperature. But if the fever is high or persistent, medical intervention is important.

Just beat a viral fever without medication myself! I focused entirely on hydration – sipped warm water, clear soups, and some ORS throughout the day. I took lukewarm showers whenever I felt too hot, and spent almost the entire day sleeping under a light sheet. My fever slowly went down over two days, but I was constantly monitoring it.

My doctor always explains that a fever is the body's natural response. To aid it without medicine, the primary focus is on keeping the body comfortable and preventing dehydration. This involves frequent sips of water or electrolyte-rich fluids, wearing light cotton clothing, maintaining a cool room temperature, and using lukewarm compresses or baths. These support the body's thermoregulation mechanisms.

Hey! For reducing fever naturally, I've found that taking a lukewarm bath helps a lot, it cools you down gently. Also, drinking plenty of water, fresh juices, and light soups keeps you hydrated. Wear light, breathable clothes and get lots of rest. These small things really do make a difference!

For those with conditions like high BP, a fever can put extra strain on the body. To lower it naturally, you must ensure good hydration with water or electrolytes, not sugary drinks. A lukewarm sponge bath is effective. And always monitor your BP during fever. If it doesn't subside, especially with BP issues, see your doctor without delay. Regular checkups are important.
