How to lie down with lower back pain?

My lower back pain has flared up again, and it's making it very difficult to sleep comfortably. I usually sleep on my side, but even that position feels painful now. What's the best way to lie down to minimize lower back pain?

Hey! Lower back pain is such a mood killer, don't stress too much, it happens! Try lying on your back with a pillow under your knees, it really helps flatten your lower back. Or if you prefer side-sleeping, put a pillow between your knees. It makes a huge difference, trust me!

Yo, lower back pain is terrible, especially after a long day of sitting in lectures! My go-to is usually just lying on my back with my feet up on a chair or the bed, so my knees are bent. It takes the pressure off instantly. And a hot water bag is always a good idea too.

I'm not a doctor, so I can only tell you what helped me personally. When my lower back acts up, I find sleeping on the floor on a thin mattress, or sometimes just a yoga mat, helps align my spine. And putting a small rolled towel under my lower back gives support. But if it's severe, best to see a physio.

My orthopedist always explained that the goal is to reduce stress on the lumbar spine. For lower back pain, he specifically recommended either lying on your back with a pillow placed under your knees to maintain the natural curve, or lying on your side with a pillow between your knees. Avoid sleeping on your stomach, as it arches the back and twists the neck.

Namaste! For lower back pain, how you lie down makes a big difference. The best positions are usually on your back with a pillow under your knees, or on your side with a pillow between your knees. These help maintain the natural curve of your spine. A firm mattress can also provide better support.
