How to lay down with back pain?

I've had chronic back pain for a few months now, especially when trying to sleep. It's really hard to get comfortable. What are some good positions or techniques to lay down when you have back pain?

For lower back pain, try lying on your back with a pillow under your knees, or on your side with a pillow between your knees. These positions help keep your spine aligned and reduce pressure. A firm mattress also makes a big difference compared to a soft one. Experiment a bit to see what works best for you.

Many people find relief by sleeping on their back with a pillow tucked under their knees, as it helps flatten the lumbar spine. Another good option is to sleep on your side with your knees slightly bent towards your chest and a pillow between your knees. Avoid sleeping on your stomach as much as possible, as it can strain your neck and back. Listen to your body and find what position gives you the most relief.

When your back hurts, find a position where your body feels supported and relaxed. Many find peace by lying on their back with knees slightly bent, or on their side with a pillow between them. Listen to your body's wisdom. Take slow, deep breaths, and try to release the tension. Be kind to yourself, and may you find comfort.

Two main positions work: either on your back with a pillow under your knees to relieve lumbar pressure, or on your side with a pillow between your knees to align your hips and spine. Never sleep on your stomach with back pain, it usually worsens it. A firm mattress is also key. Simple.

My son had severe back pain from sports once. The doctor advised him to lie on his back and put a pillow under his knees. Or if he sleeps on his side, to keep a pillow between his legs. This helps take the pressure off the lower back. Also, getting up slowly, not just jumping out of bed, helps a lot.

Oh god, back pain is the worst, especially when trying to sleep! I always overthink my posture. I find that lying on my back with a pillow under my knees helps align my spine and reduces the strain. Have you tried that? Or maybe side sleeping with a pillow between your legs? It makes a big difference sometimes.

My smart mattress tracker shows that I sleep best when I'm on my side with a pillow between my knees, especially if I have back stiffness. For back pain, the 'fetal position' or lying on your back with knees elevated by a pillow are generally recommended. Avoid sleeping on your stomach. Also, a good ergonomic pillow for your head helps maintain neck alignment.
