How to kt tape for lower back pain?

I've been having some lower back pain from my gym workouts, and my physio suggested trying KT tape. I bought some but I'm not sure about the correct way to apply it for lower back pain relief. Can anyone guide me?

Uff, lower back pain, my constant companion. KT tape? Honestly, the one time I tried to apply it myself, it looked like a toddler's art project. Ended up just getting a physio to do it. Definitely watch some proper YouTube tutorials or better yet, get a professional to show you first. Trying to do it yourself when you're in pain and sleep deprived is a recipe for disaster. 😩

For lower back pain, you generally need two strips. One longer one vertically along your spine where the pain is, and another shorter one horizontally across the painful area, almost like a cross. Make sure to stretch the tape only in the middle part, leaving the ends unstretched, and rub it gently to activate the adhesive. Look for videos online, they show it best.

KT taping can help relieve some back pain. Make sure your skin is clean and dry first. It's best to watch a video tutorial or ask a physiotherapist to show you how to apply it correctly for your specific pain area.

Ah, the old lower back nemesis! KT tape is good, but getting it right is an art. I usually get my wife to help me, otherwise, I look like a mummy. You typically want to support the muscles. Search for 'I-strip' and 'Y-strip' applications for lower back on YouTube; those are the common ones. Just make sure you don't overstretch it, or it will pull on your skin.

If you're busy like me, learning to KT tape properly can save trips to the physio for minor aches. For lower back, apply with a slight stretch over the painful muscle, usually from below the hips upwards towards the mid-back. There are tons of instructional videos on YouTube specific to lower back; watch a few and practice. But if pain is severe, see a professional first.
