How to know if your fatty liver is getting worse?

I was diagnosed with fatty liver a few years ago, and I'm trying to manage it with diet. How can I tell if my fatty liver condition is actually getting worse? Are there any symptoms I should be looking out for?

For fatty liver, the key is usually lifestyle. If you notice persistent fatigue even with enough sleep, or feeling generally unwell, it could be a sign. My trainer friend who had it said regular exercise, especially brisk walking, really helped him. But get doctor's clearance first for any new routine. Regular check-ups with blood tests (LFTs) are also a must to track it.

If your fatty liver is progressing, you might start feeling more persistent fatigue, unexplained weight loss, or pain/discomfort in the upper right side of your abdomen. Swelling in your legs or jaundice (yellowing skin/eyes) are more serious signs. It's crucial to follow up with your doctor for regular blood tests and ultrasounds to monitor its status. Self-monitoring isn't enough for this.

Beti, liver ka dhyaan rakhna bahut zaroori hai. Agar zyada thakaan lag rahi hai, ya pet ke upar right side mein dard ho raha hai, toh yeh ache signs nahi hain. Pehle toh doctor ko dikhao, aur unki baat suno. Ghar pe thoda halka khaana khao aur aaram karo. Jaldi theek ho jaoge.

Increased fatigue and discomfort in the upper right abdomen are common signs. Regular doctor visits and tests are important.

I was diagnosed with fatty liver a couple of years back and I used to panic every time I felt a little tired or had a slight stomach ache. My doctor reassured me that the initial stages often don't have dramatic symptoms. But if you notice severe fatigue, yellowing of skin/eyes, fluid retention, or chronic pain in the upper right abdomen, those are serious red flags. Regular follow-ups with your doc and ultrasound are the only way to truly track it.

Oh, fatty liver is no fun, especially for a foodie like me who loves to indulge! You'll know it's getting worse if you start feeling constantly tired even after a good sleep, or if that comfy feeling after a heavy meal turns into actual discomfort in your right side. Also, if you suddenly lose your appetite for your favorite biryani – that's a major red flag! Jokes aside, regular blood tests are your best friend here, not just guessing. Keep those LFTs in check!

Beyond routine LFTs (Liver Function Tests) and ultrasounds, which are non-negotiable for monitoring, be alert to persistent, unexplained fatigue, a dull ache or discomfort in your upper right abdomen, or noticeable weight loss. If you start seeing jaundice (yellow skin/eyes) or swelling in your legs/ankles, that's a serious sign it's worsening and requires immediate medical attention. Don't self-diagnose based on vague symptoms; get proper medical evaluation.
