How to know if you have malaria?

I've had a fever, body aches, and really bad headaches for the past couple of days, and I'm sweating a lot at night. We've had a lot of mosquitoes lately in our area. How do I know if this could be malaria?

Forget what Google or WhatsApp forwards tell you about home remedies. Malaria is serious. If you have fever with chills that come and go, severe body ache, and feel generally unwell, especially if you're in a mosquito-prone area, just go to a proper doctor. They'll do a blood test to confirm. Don't self-medicate.

Okay, so like, everyone in my hostel got dengue or malaria at some point. If you get really high fever, super bad chills where you can't stop shivering, and your whole body aches, especially your head, then it could be malaria. Definitely get tested, don't wait it out.

It's totally understandable to feel anxious, especially with monsoon season and all the mosquito warnings. The classic signs are high fever with severe chills that make you shiver uncontrollably, followed by profuse sweating. Don't worry too much, but do get a blood test quickly if you have these symptoms. It's better to rule it out.

How to know? Well, if you feel like you're simultaneously freezing to death and burning alive, and then sweating enough to fill a bucket, all within a few hours, congratulations, you might have malaria. And probably a nasty headache to top it off. My advice: skip the drama, get a blood test. Tired of all these fevers, yaar.

Does the fever come and go in a pattern, like every other day? I've heard that somewhere. Also, do you feel very weak even after the fever subsides? I'm trying to understand the symptoms better.

Yaar, it's pretty distinct, no? High fever with proper chills that make your teeth chatter, then you sweat a lot. Actually, the headache is also very severe. If you're feeling these symptoms, especially during mosquito season, just go for a blood test (smear test). That's the only way to know for sure.

Malaria can be really serious, so please don't take chances. The classic symptoms are high fever, severe chills, and profuse sweating. Sometimes you might also get headache and nausea. It's crucial to see a doctor for a proper diagnosis with a blood test; don't rely on self-diagnosis or home remedies. Stay safe!
