How to know if you have cavities at home?

Sometimes my teeth feel sensitive, especially to cold drinks, and I've noticed a few dark spots. I don't have a dentist appointment for a while, so I'm wondering how I can check at home to know if I have cavities.

If you see dark spots on your teeth or feel a sharp pain when eating sweet or cold things, it could be a cavity. Best to see a dentist.

Yaar, usually if you feel a sudden, sharp pain when you're eating something cold, hot or sweet, that's a big sign. Or if you can actually see small black spots or holes in your teeth. But honestly, only a dentist can confirm it properly. Self-checking is not enough.

While eating healthy and staying hydrated is good for overall oral health, you can't really 'know' about cavities at home with certainty. Look for dark spots or feel for rough edges with your tongue. But for a proper diagnosis and treatment, a dentist is essential. Don't let cavities affect your eating habits or energy for workouts!

Honestly, if it starts hurting so much that it wakes you up at night, then you probably have a cavity. Or if you can stick your tongue in a hole in your tooth. Otherwise, I just ignore it until the next dentist visit, which I probably won't remember to book because I'm too tired.

Sometimes I feel a little sensitivity when I drink cold water, and I get so paranoid about cavities! Do you guys also get that? Or is it just me overthinking? I'm scared to look too closely in the mirror, haha.
