How to know if something is wrong with your thyroid?

My sister has been gaining weight despite eating less, and she's always feeling cold. Her hair is also thinning quite a bit. Someone suggested it could be her thyroid. How can we tell if something is actually wrong with it?

Beta, many things can go wrong with our body. For thyroid, you might feel very tired, gain or lose weight without trying, or feel cold/hot all the time. Sometimes even your hair starts falling. It's good to eat healthy and stay active, but for thyroid, a blood test is a must to know properly. Then doctor will guide.

For thyroid, my mother always says to notice if your neck feels swollen, or if you're feeling sluggish even after resting. Also, unexplained weight changes are a big sign. While home food is good, for diagnosis, a proper blood test (TSH, T3, T4) is essential. Doctors know best, please consult them.

Yo, my mom had thyroid. She was always feeling super tired, like even after sleeping for 10 hours. And her weight kept fluctuating randomly. Also, sometimes her throat looked a bit swollen. If you feel like that, just get a blood test done. It's pretty common these days.

Haan, thyroid kaafi common hai ab. Agar aapko bahut zyada thakaan lagti hai, ya weight upar-neeche hota hai bina reason, toh ho sakta hai. Kabhi-kabhi skin dry hone lagti hai ya mood swings bhi hote hain. Na, aise hi guess mat karna, blood test karwa lo, best wahi hai pata karne ke liye.

I totally get why you're asking this, the symptoms can be really vague! But generally, feeling constantly exhausted, unexpected changes in weight, sensitivity to cold, or even hair loss could be signs. It's often diagnosed through a simple blood test. Don't worry, just get it checked out by a doc.
